A quick overview of some of the important features on corbisimages.com.

• 

  Improved image details

  An improved image details section tells you all you need to know about a photograph. Once you find an image you like, click on it to see the image details, to download a comping image, or to access pricing information.

  • The “Image keywords” section provides a list of keywords related to the image. Select the ones that best match your criteria and click “Search” to find more images that share these keywords.
  • The “Related images” section helps you find more images from the same photo shoot, featuring the same models or locations, or available on the same virtual CD.
  • Depending on the category of image, the “Image keywords” and “Related images” sections may not appear.
  • To see an image preview in a new window, click “Preview in a separate window” under the image. Use this feature to compare different images.

  Searching with AND, OR, NOT

  Changes have been made to AND, OR, and NOT search operators:

  Use AND to ensure all search terms are present within the results (e.g. mountain AND trees). Adding a space between two words will produce the same results.

  OR brings up more varied results (e.g. lake OR stream). The lowercase form of this search operator is no longer supported.

  Use NOT — capital letters only — to eliminate terms (e.g. mountains NOT trees). The (-) symbol no longer serves this purpose.

  “ ” searches for specific phrases (e.g. “wedding dress”).

  NOBODY brings up images without people (e.g. beach NOBODY).

  CONCEPTS returns more abstract images, which is particularly useful when paired with a specific keyword.

  * finds variations of the same word or date (e.g. travel* brings up travel, traveling, and traveler).

  Outline™ search results

  All image searches will now include results from the exclusive Outline™ collection, and all registered users can search for Outline images.

  Larger preview images and customized details

  Preview images have been enlarged to a size of 350px, making them easier to view and evaluate. Plus, search results can now be displayed with customized information.

  Thumbnail only view

  A new thumbnail only view for search results eliminates the clutter and allows more images to be viewed on-screen at once. Click on “Display options” and select the thumbnail only layout option.

  Web and mobile resolution images

  Corbis Images now offers affordable web & mobile resolution sizes. Rights-managed images are available at 640px or 400px sizes, and royalty-free images are available at the 400px size, with prices starting at $5.

  Corbis Motion content linked to image search results

  When you search for images, you’ll also get instant access to motion content from the world’s premier film and entertainment companies, plus archival, contemporary, and breathtaking HD footage. A link to relevant clips will appear above your search results.

  Easier rights-managed pricing

  The pricing calculator feature allows you to quickly customize all aspects of rights-managed image licensing. Transparent pricing appears on one grid, and usage details — from image size to placement — are easily adjustable.
