Director Jean-Luc Godard (born 1930) walks along the beach during the 1980 Cannes Film Festival. He is participating at Cannes for the first time with his film Sauve qui Peut (also called Every Man for Himself or Slow Motion) representing Switzerland. This is his first film in six years and is being presented as part of the "Official Selection."
