A graduate school student wearing the robot suit "Hybrid Assistive Limb (HAL) 5", developed by professor Yoshiyuki Sankai, holds three 10-kg rice packs easily during a test at Tsukuba Industrial Liaison Cooporation Research Center of University of Tsukuba, northeast of Tokyo June 24, 2005. The robotic suit can give an average man twice his usual strength and looks like a sleek, high-tech suit of white armour or perhaps equipment for American football players of the future. The gadget was developed to assist the elderly in their everyday lives. | Location: Tsukuba, Japan.
