Basketball - Barcelona Olympics - USA 'Dream Team'
NBA star Michael Jordan of the U.S. national team slips behind Toni Kukoc of Croatia to steal the ball, during their men's basketball final at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain on August 8, 1992. The United States defeated Croatia 117-85 to win the gold medal. Jordan led the U.S. team with 22 points while Kukoc scored 16 for Croatia. It was the first time in the history of the Olympics that professional players from the NBA were allowed to participate in what was dubbed the "dream team." Kukoc would eventually join forces with Jordan on the Chicago Bulls and would go on to win three NBA titles as teammates. Jordan won a total of six NBA championships in his legendary career.
