GERMANY - RELIGION - SCIENTOLOGY

Members of Scientology distribute information at the Alexanderplatz Square. Scientology, which calls itself a religion, was established in 1954 by the science-fiction writer L.R. Hubbard. Church members believe that 76 million years ago an evil space lord named Xenu, who was alarmed at the overpopulation of the galaxy, persuaded billions of people to travel from their native planets to earth, then known as Teegeeack. There, he paralyzed and sought to annihilate the aliens by dropping hydrogen bombs on them. When the material element of these beings was destroyed, the immortal 'thetan', or 'soul' of the aliens were captured and forced to exist in a sort of 'virtual reality' universe. Eventually, Xenu was captured and the thetans began infesting by thousands whatever life form was present on this planet.
