Visitors and workers at a former Soviet industrial complex transformed into an art complex, in Dashanzi. It now houses art galleries, studios, art bookshops, and fashionable bars and restaurants, where parties are commonplace. Things happen so quickly in China that it has now become a tourist attraction where it is possible to find more foreigners than Chinese. An "avant garde" creation, it threatens to be a victim of its own success. Many important Chinese artists have already relocated further afield from Beijing to distance themselves from distractions.
