Trousseau belonging to a young married couple in the village of Luo Quan Wan, comprised of a mirror, television, poster, desk and clock, all of which are piled up like in an Egyptian tomb. All the objects and coloured decorations are in stark contrast to the dilapidated house exterior, almost like a mirage. At the end of a mountain path lies a small, grey one-roomed house made of straw, blending into the mountain dust. The door opens, giving a glimpse of the splendid decor within. Nor will the decor change with time. Instead, with time, its tinsely brilliance will fade. The cost of providing such a trousseau explains why families accumulate such huge debts. No trousseau is complete without the "must have" television, the centerpiece of the gift parade.
