People jump together at 12:39:13h central european summer time at the occasion of the World Jump Day, in Lausanne, Switzerland, Thursday, July 20, 2006. World Jump Day is a hoax organized by German artist Torsten Lauschmann, claiming to be Professor Hans Peter Niesward from the Institute for Gravitational Physics in Munich, and is in no way serious. The organization wanted to have 600 million people from the western hemisphere to jump simultaneously. They claim this will move the Earth out of its current orbit into a new one, one that will minimize global warming and extend a day to 25 hours.
