German Chancellor Angela Merkel enters a submarine of type 212A in Rostock-Warnemuende, Germany, Thursday, 31 August 2006. Merkel visits the German navy fleet and will later go on board of frigate 'Sachsen' for a several-hours long cruise. According to a navy spokesperson Merkel wants to be informed about the current state of the German navy.
