Ivory Coast - Toxic waste scandal

French ambassador to the Ivory coast Andre Janier (2nd L) and French cooperation minister Brigitte Jiradin (L) and Ivory Coast Prime Minister Charles Konan Banny (2nd R) visit Akuedo where toxic waste has been dumped in Abidjan, Ivory Coast Friday 08 September 2006. Toxic waste dumped at various sites in Ivory Coast's commercial capital has killed three people and 1500 treated for symptoms of stomach pains, nosebleeds and respiratory difficulties after breathing in toxic fumes from the waste.
