Basketball - Barcelona Olympics - USA 'Dream Team'

Michael Jordan salutes the fans after receiving his gold medal from International Olympic Committee president Juan Antonio Samaranch (below) at the Summer Olympics in Barcelona, Spain on August 8, 1992. At left is Scottie Pippen and at right is Clyde Drexler. Dubbed the 'Dream Team' because of the top NBA stars on the squad, the USA defeated Croatia 117-85 to capture the gold medal in Spain with a perfect 8-0 record. All three players are members of the NBA's 50 greatest players list. Samaranch served as president of the IOC from 1980 to 2001. | Location: Barcelona, Spain.
