Brazil - Agriculture - Environment - Soy Bean Plant Fumigation

Fumigation on a soy bean plantation in the Brazilian state of Mato Grosso, belonging to Erai Maggi. He is considered the king of soy, holding the largest plantation, spreading across some 494,000 acres. His firm Bom Futuro uses 300 combine harvesters and 500 tractors to produce more than 600,000 tons of soy a year. Environmentalists argue that the production of ethanol, made form sensitive sugar cane, is pushing production of more and more adaptable soy crops into virgin rainforest areas.
