British Prime Minister Gordon Brown (L) sits down with former US president Bill Clinton (R) during the first working session of the Progressive Governance Summit in Watford, Hertfordshire, Britain. Gordon Brown will step up calls today for reform of international institutions to deal with the twin threats of global economic turmoil and climate change. On the opening day of the Progressive Governance Conference of centre-left leaders and politicians, the Prime Minister warned that the world was in the grip of 'the first truly global financial crisis'.
