USA - 13 Love Stories - Gay Marriage in California
Raymond Moya and Byron Moya are a Latino couple living in the Riverside area. Together they are raising adopted twin girls Jasmine and Jaqueline. The pair are a loving couple and extremely committed as parents. Raymond is a cancer survivor and worked in the labor movement before going on disability. They are active campaigners fighting for the repeal of Proposition 8. This was the California ballot proposition voted in the November 2008 election, which changed the state constitution to restrict the definition of marriage to opposite-sex couples, eliminating same-sex marriages. They are part of an innovative multimedia project entitled 13LoveStories.com. "He brought the girls to see me every day in the hospital, when I was being treated for myeloma. I believe that's the reason I'm still here."
