Tamil rebel leader Velupillai Prabhakaran of Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE). Sri Lankan state TV and army released on 18 May 2009 that Prabhakaran was dead, Tamil rebels strongly repudiate the death of their leader and LTTE 'categorically repulses' the army's view.
