Thomas Selfridge and Wright Brothers Prepare for Takeoff
Lt. Thomas Selfridge, US Army (seated) and Orville (next to him) and Wilbur Wright (rear, at propeller) prepare an airplane for takeoff. The airplane, piloted by Orville, later crashed, killing Selfridge, making him the first US military aviation causality.
