Relief of a swordfish in the Temple of Hatchepsut

This type of fish has an elongated shape of the body with a sword-and-arrow-shaped snout. The first and second dorsal fins are triangular, while it has deep and narrow tail. Of all the swordfish with a snout are representatives from the family of Xiphias gladius (swordfish). Sometimes the sword reached up to 1/3 of the body. The back and anal fins are uniform when young and split in two in adults.
