Painting of a woman from the Tomb of Kha

Painting of a woman from the Tomb of Kha

Detail of a painting from the Tomb of Kha, Chief in the Great Place, TT 8 in the Tombs of the Nobles at Thebes. This beautiful lady is probably Kha's wife Meryt. When Schiaparelli found the mummy of Meryt, he noticed that her body was not mummified and wrapped carefully like Kha's mummy, with which he also found the earliest copies of the Book of the Dead on colored papyrus.
