Statues in the tomb of the scribe Neferhotep

Statues in the tomb of the scribe Neferhotep

At the back of the inside chamber of the tomb of Neferhotep, chief scribe of Amun, there are niches containing engraved statues. In the main niche there are painted figures of Neferhotep and his wife Meretre, seated and dressed in fine garments and heavy wigs. The smaller niche on the sidewall of the chamber contains a pair of unnamed statues, and another similar niche with two statues was carved on the opposite wall.
