Painting of foreign offerings in the Tomb of Ramesses III
Detail of painting in the Tomb of Ramesses III, KV 11 in the Valley of the Kings at Thebes. The period of king Ramesses III is well known for wars against the sea-people of the Aegean. His victories inspired the King to decorate two whole rooms in his tomb with depictions of offerings from those foreign regions whilst the walls of his mortuary temple at Thebes in Medinet Habu also celebrate these victories.
