Painting from the Tomb of Userhet

Painting from the Tomb of Userhet

Detail of a painting from the tomb of Userhet called Neferhabef, TT 51 in the Tombs of the Nobles at Thebes. The chapel was considered a private place of prayer, worship and oratory, in general, a sacred place. Here we see the tomb owner and his wife inside the chapel on a boat on their journey to the god Anubis who has surrounded them with lotus flowers, to protect them on their journey to god Osiris.
