Painting from the Tomb of Amenhotep Huy

Painting from the Tomb of Amenhotep Huy

Detail of a painting from the Tomb of Amenhotep called Huy, TT 40 at Thebes. Amenhotep Huy was in charge of controlling the gold mines in Nubia, and held the title of 'Overseer of the Gold Lands of the Lord of the Two Lands'. He was also the 'King's Son of Kush', which explains why there are so many Nubians in his tomb worshiping and giving offerings to him.
