Detail from the lid of a box from the Tomb of King Tutankhamen

Many wooden boxes inlaid with precious stones were found inside the tomb of King Tutankhamun, mostly made of wood and ivory. This detail of Tutankhamun and his wife Ankhesenamun is painted on one of the veneered wooden boxes found in the Annex chamber. The scene depicts the King and the Queen standing, she holding bouquets of flowers in her hand, giving them to the King who is accepting them.
