Painting from the Tomb of Nefer'abet

Painting from the Tomb of Nefer'abet

Detail of a painting in the Tomb of Nefer'abet, TT 5 at Dayr al-Madina at Luxor. Nefer'abet held the title 'Servant in the Place of Truth'. This title was held also by many of the workers in Dayr al-Madina who worked in the Theban necropolis. Nefer'abet is shown here as a mummy under the protection of Isis and Nephthys accompanied by symbols of eternity. Above the mummy, the goddess Nephthys spreads her wings over the symbols of endurance and resurrection.
