Canopic jars from the tomb of Yuya and Tuya

Canopic jars from tomb KV 46 of Yuya and Tuya, parents of Queen Tiya, wife of King Amenhotep III, in the Valley of the Kings at Luxor. The Canopic jars were used to store the organs of the deceased, which, with the exception of heart which was left in the body, were removed and preserved in the jars. Canopic jars sometimes have covers in the shape of a human head or the heads of the four sons of Horus.
