Relief from the Tomb of Ramose

Relief from the Tomb of Ramose

Detail of a relief from the Tomb of Ramose, Governor of Thebes, TT 55 in the Tombs of the Nobles at Thebes. There are two kinds of reliefs in the tomb, the first a set of detailed and accurate, uncolored, high reliefs over the chamber, which represent the art of the Eighteenth Dynasty. The second, from the time of Akhenaten, are mostly illustrated in color on a layer of plaster. Here, one of the bearers is offering a cow head to Ramose.
