Painting of foreign visitors from the Tomb of Puimre

Detail of a painting from the tomb of Puimre, second prophet of Amun, TT 39 in the Tombs of the Nobles at Thebes. The tomb of the architect Puimre is one of the most famous tombs in the necropolis of El-Khokha. Puimre held the title 'Second Prophet of Amun'. He worked during the reign of Thutmosis III and Queen Hatshepsut. One of most interesting scenes in his tomb shows him receiving homage from foreign lands, including the four figures of foreigners from the area of the Red Sea.
