Yemen - Conflict - Internally Displaced Refugees

Internally displaced persons (IDP) from the Saada district of northern Yemen wait out the fighting in the Mazrak IDP camp, in neighboring Haja district. At least 1000 families have fled to the Mazraq IDP camp in the northern Haja Governorate of Yemen, close to areas of fighting between Houthi rebels and Yemeni government forces. The most recent round of fighting, which is locally referred to as the "6th war", has been the first in which the Yemeni government has used air strikes extensively--several of which have killed significant numbers of civilians. The Yemeni government has not allowed reporters into the conflict zone, and continues to maintain tight control over the media's access to the camps in the north. | Location: Mazraq, Yemen.
