Buffet and Gates become BYD celebrity salesmen

Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates, right, and U.S. investor and philanthropist Warren Buffet are seen during the BYD M6 nationwide launching ceremony in Beijing, China, 29 September 2010. The U.S. billionaire duo of investor Warren Buffett and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates on Wednesday (29 September 2010) handed celebrity-level endorsement to Chinese auto maker BYD, in which Buffets investment firm has a nearly 10% stake. The two Americans rode in a BYD van from behind a cloud of mist and onto the stage of a Beijing media event for the company, before giving lavish, if seemingly rehearsed, praise for the van. It was fantastic. I am amazed at the quality of that vehicle, Gates said after exiting the van, called the M6. The billionaires boost for BYD comes on the heels of remarks Buffett made in China on Monday, when he declared, BYD is the right choice for me.
