CHILE-SAN JOSE-TRAPPED MINERS-RESCUE

(101010) -- SAN JOSE, Oct. 10, 2010 (Xinhua) -- Rescuers test rescue equipment in the San Jose mine, 800 km north of the Chilean capital of Santiago, on Oct. 9, 2010. Chile's Mining Minister Laurence Golborne said on Saturday that the casing of the Plan B's completed 624-meter tunnel is necessary, at least for the initial 100 meters, which will start on Saturday night. He also stated the probability that the final evaluation of the trapped miners' rescue work will be done by next Wednesday, when the rescue work can eventually be put into practice.
