Democratic Republic of the Congo - Conflict - The Rape of a Nation
Opangi Molati, 5, leans against the form of a shelter in the Tchomia camp for internally displaced persons, IDPs, in the village of Gety, Ituri province, Democratic Republic of Congo, DRC, on July 8, 2006. Molati was forced to flee the recent fighting in the region and take refuge in the camp where there are 30,000 IDPs living, an area with limited supplies and virtually no international help. Ongoing conflict and the lack of access to medical care has claimed the lives of 5.4 million people in the DRC since 1998. | Location: Gety, Ituri Province, Democratic Republic of Congo.
