Pakistan - Talibanistan

Girls study the Koran at a girls madrassa in a private home in Saidu Sharif, North-West Frontier Province, Pakistan on July 6, 2008. Saidu Sharif city lies next to Mingora in Swat. Young girls study the Koran in an increasingly religious area. Since 1995, religious groups are trying to bring Mingora under Sharia law, or Islamic Law, rather than the traditional tribal law carried out in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas. Locals are under increased pressure to abide a very conservative branch of islam. | Location: Saidu Sharif, North-West Frontier Province, Pakistan.
