Afghanistan - The Tangi Valley

U.S. Soldiers from 2nd Platoon, Apache Company, 2nd Battalion, 87th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat team, 10th Mountain Division, take cover as medical evacuation helicopters lift off in the Tangi Valley, Wardak province, Afghanistan on Sept. 8, 2009. Three U.S. soldiers from RCP 5 of the 9-51 Engineer Company, Sappers from the 276th Engineer Battalion were evacuated after being injured in an Improvised Explosive Device, IED, attack on a Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Vehicle, MRAP.
