An Uyghur man from the more remote regions of Xinjiang province browses through the animal bazaar of Kashgar's famous Sunday market, which has functioned since the time of Christ, in Kashgar, Xinjiang province, China on Aug. 10, 2003. The market is undergoing dramatic change at the hands of the Beijing administration. The animal bazaar has been moved recently away from the center of town, and the grand bazaar is in the process of moving into buildings, replacing the more chaotic stall system.
