Women carry bundles on a rural farm in the Punjab region, India on Sept. 4, 2008. Extreme spraying of pesticides in the region where the Green Revolution began in the 1960's has caused the ground water to be contaminated. High numbers of birth defects are being found throughout many parts of the Punjab attributed to excessive chemical spraying.
