A boy scout and a bicycle taxi driver pose for a portrait near Kikwiti, Democratic Republic of Congo on Jan. 15, 2008. I taped a bedsheet under a cluster of bamboo and invited passing villagers to stand for a portrait. This elegantly solved the problem I was having of photographing people in the Congo.
