111210 (Gary Coronado/ The Palm Beach Post) -- Boynton Beach -- Teresa Murphy, 57, who suffers from an untreatable and rare form of thyroid cancer, has CAT scans done on her throat, abdomen, chest and pelvis to see if chemotherapy has stopped the spread of cancer. She has already lived longer than doctors expected. The cancer has spread to Teresa's lungs, abdomen, skin and bones. She decided to go through clinical trials at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Bill Murphy, 56, husband of 35 years, lost his job two years ago. They decided to adopt their daughter's four children when she walked out on them after she could no longer care for them adequately. The adoption was finalized January 9, 2008. Their home is going into foreclosure because they decided to pay for health insurance rather than the mortgage. Bill has become the caregiver and Mr. Mom to the children.
