Top U.S. automaker General Motors (GM) expects exports of its China-made Chevrolet Sail to more than quadruple next year, a senior executive said, catering to rising demand for low cost quality vehicles in emerging markets. GM started to export its Chevy new Sail made at its flagship China car venture with long-time partner SAIC Motor Corp in January, shipping 5,000 units mostly to Chile as of the end of October. Next year, the growth will certainly be many times more than our 2010 number, Terry Johnsson, vice president for GMs China operations said in an interview on the sidelines of the week-long Guangzhou autoshow.
