epa02506163 Morans, or young Maasai warriors, dance together during an inauguration ceremony of their age group's leader held in Kilo village, Mashuuru District, some 150km south of capital Nairobi, Kenya, 20 December 2010. Some 1,000 Morans, or young Maasai warriors, from Il Kibulu age group of Kaputei Maasai community attended the ceremony to inaugurate their chief councillor called 'Olaiguenani lenkashe', literally means 'the leader of the calves'. Age groups are the central units of Maasai society and every age group has its own leader who is appointed through elaborate rituals and given various decision making authorities to lead his group.
