epa02727002 The start of the excavations at the former convent of St. Ursula where the remains of Lisa Gherardini Del Giocondo, the Mona Lisa by Leonardo, could possibly lay in Florence, Italy, 11 May 2011. The convent of St. Ursula became a center of attention in 2007 when an important document was discovered in the archive of the Basilica of San Lorenzo, which states that the remains of Lisa Gherardini are present there.
