Lars Von Trier Stirs Controversy with Nazi Comments

epa02741208 (FILE) A file picture dated 18 May 2011 shows French actress Charlotte Gainsbourg (L) and Danish director Lars Von Trier (R) at the press conference for their movie 'Melancholia' during the 64th Cannes Film Festival, in Cannes, France. Von Trier stirred controversy with remarks about his being a Nazi at a press conference on his movie in Cannes on 18 May 2011. After the press office of the Cannes Film Festival issued a release later the same day asking the filmmaker to provide an explanation for his comments, Von Trier apologized for his remarks. 'Melancholia' was presented in the Official Competition of the film festival, running from 11 to 22 May. EPA/GUILLAUME HORCAJUELO
