China to officially launch Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway
--FILE--A CRH (China Railway High-speed) train leaves the Beijing South Railway Station for Shanghai on the Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway during a test run in Beijing, China, 17 June 2011. China is set to put its Beijing-Shanghai High-speed Railway into official operation on July 1, the same day when the Communist Party of China celebrates its 90th anniversary. A ceremony marking the debut of the high-speed railroad will be held on Thursday. It took Chinese engineers only 39 months to complete the 1,318km high-speed railway line which links the capital with its financial centre.
