Supporters of the Dalai Lama protest in Cape Town, South Africa
epa02949122 Supporters of the Dalai Lama protest outside Parliament in Cape Town, South Africa 03 October 2011. The Dalai Lama was invited to attend fellow Nobel Peace laureate Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu's 80th birthday celebrations later this week but thus far his visa application has not been accepted by the South African government. A diplomatic source has said it is unlikely the exiled Tibetan spiritual leader would be granted a visa, because the government did not want to strain its ties with China. China is South Africa's biggest trading partner. EPA/NIC BOTHMA
