Tunisian migrants arrive in Italy

epa02986977 YEARENDER 2011 FEBRUARY Would-be migrants from Tunisia wait their turn to enter the refugee camp on the southern Italian island of Lampedusa, Italy, 13 February 2011. There are an estimated 2,100 Tunisian refugees on the island. Bowing to local pressure amid a rising tide of Tunisian refugees, Italian Interior Minister Roberto Maroni on Sunday decided to reopen a large refugee camp on the southern islet of Lampedusa. The development came after a further 1,000 Tunisian boat refugees arrived overnight on Lampedusa, further straining the tiny Italian island‘s facilities to assist them. EPA/CIRO FUSCO
