Dates and sweet tea being served to visitors in Bamhar village, some 40 km south of Adrar. The town is supplied with irrigation water by an ancient and well-maintained network of "foggara" or subterranean aqueducts. The young people are not interested in the hard work of maintaining the foggara, so the work rests with this group of old men seen here.
