epa03059723 The captain of the 'Costa Concordia' cruise ship, Francesco Schettino is taken into custody in Grosseto, Italy, 14 January 2012. At least 50 people were believed to be missing after the cruise ship ran aground off Italy's western coast and began to sink, media reported 14 January. The Costa Concordia liner had set off on 13 January from the port of Civitavecchia, near Rome, for the start of a Mediterranean cruise, when its crew signalled an electrical fault to port authorities.
