The death toll from the cold spell reached 112 in Ukraine, Health Minister Aleksandr Anishchenko said today. Temperatures in the Ukrainian fell to 24 degrees below zero Celsius on Tuesday night. More than 2000 people were treated for cold-related injuries, the Ukraine Ministry of Emergency Situations reported.
