Village of Nagaa Al Foukani, a few km down stream from Aswan on the west bank of the Nile. It is one of the few villages in Egypt with a majority of the houses built in the traditional Nubian architectural style, with domed or arch roofs made from bricks. Nubian culture was almost completely wiped out in Egypt with the contruction and flooding of the Aswan High Dam, and the architectural styles seen here are now a rarity in Egypt.
