UK - Politics - Heath Secretary Andrew Lansley is heckled by protesters as he arrives at Downing Street for a meeting on the NHS reform bill

Health Secretary and architect of the NHS reform bill MP Andrew Lansley is heckled and jostled as he arrived to attend a meeting on the future of the NHS. Protesters gathered outside on Whitehall in a demonstration called 'Summit of the Uninvited', Downing Street, London, UK. Outside the Prime Minister's summit meeting where he invited selected health professionals and private companies to discuss implementation of the health bill, and excluded all the organisations critical of the bill. It has been alleged this shows the government's desperation that they have had to rapidly convene this meeting to try to cobble this together at the last minute to try to show they still have some professional support and to split the profession and marginalise those who are critical.
