(120309) -- SHENYANG, March 9, 2012 (Xinhua) -- Sichuan Opera fan Yang Jing breathes out flames during a performance in a kindergarten in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province, March 8, 2012. Ms. Yang, now 25, started taking Sichuan Opera trainings when she was eighteen. Prior to that, Ms. Yang had been rejected three times by her instructor, a Sichuan Opera artist who believed that the art could only be passed down to male disciples. The fourth time Ms. Yang came to the artist, after dozens of hours' train ride from her native Shenyang to Sichuan in the southwest, the man, touched by her sincerity and perseverance, changed his mind and accepted Ms. Yang's request to learn Sichuan Opera skills, notably the face-changing, which involves the rapid change of coloured face masks. After years of hardwork, Ms. Yang can manage 18 face-changes in 25 seconds today, but she will not give up the pursuit of perfection. (Xinhua/Tian Weitao) (lmm)
